  It was a stifling day - and the undulating hills and breezy green trees provided little relief. In spite of this - Rose Seidler house - with it's elevated position - was surprisingly cool. (Temperature and design.) There's no ducted air conditioning - but there was a dishwasher (not that that would keep the place cold!) "Where's the TV?" asked our 9 year old daughter. "It's here..." And I pointed to the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the backyard. She didn't understand. The master bedroom off of the verandah is tres cool. Check it out. There's something of the bright colours of Mondrian here, or the curving designs of Miro - painted throughout the house. The House is worth a visit - even if it is on the other side of Sydney! PS We put in an offer - but the house was just above our budget! (At the moment ;-) PPS Don't sit on the furniture!

  The wallaby in the garden was a lot more entertaining than the somehow sad if Mondrian-esque fibro house. Pardon me if that makes me a philistine.

  Wow, this place is terrific. So interesting and fascinating to understand the background to this terrific home which lead to much of Sydney's architectural history thanks to the 180 plus buildings Harry Seidler designed. Opened every Sunday as part of Open Sydney Museums.
